Enjoy Your Break:

I am here with the other teachers discussing how to keep making our middle school experience filled with even more learning and enjoyment. We hope that you enjoy your break and are reading something you love.

I look forward to discussing books we find that we loved. I have attached the break homework on the edge in case you lost it.

Be safe, have fun, read books.

Updates:

Hello all,

I have linked the syllabus on the side of this site for any questions anyone has (and because it has my contact information).

This week all students will be receiving progress reports. There are 4 grades present:
1st- Students had a week to get their syllabuses signed and complete a student survey (10 pts.)
2nd- Students have completed a reading log for a week (25 pts)
3rd- Students had their first quiz on our rules and assessments (60 pts)
4th- Students were to create a mission statement (10 pts)

If you have any questions about your grade, please send me an email with your questions.

If you are worried that your grade is lower than you want, then follow these steps:
1) If your quiz grade is low - study your mistakes and ask for a retake.
2) If you are missing the syllabus and/or the mission statement- get them turned in for partial credit.
3) If your reading log grade is low, make sure you work on this every day. Many, many hours of sustained independent reading is the only way to become a master reader.

I am very excited to join the DaVinci Academy family, and I am looking forward to working with you to create an incredible learning experience.

Bonus Challenge 1: Anyone that can do a 6 degrees of separation between the Oregon Ducks and Leonardo DaVinci and post it as a comment to this post will receive a tasty prize and will be named most awesome member of the DaVinci family and will quite possibly go down in history as the world's greatest person.
